Running With Scissors, in my opinion, was a great book (as are many of Augusten Burroughs memoirs). Burroughs has a great writing style: simple enough that you do not get caught up with all of the fancy diction and syntax, but full of intellect! I think one of the reasons why I most like Running with Scissors is that he really exposed you to the craziest and most tragic side of mental illness, while still emphasizing that nothing in life should be taken too seriously...and everything bad has a funny silver lining.
I never really cried reading it, I just laughed really hard at some of the ludicrous events in this poor guys childhood and how he interprets these events with levity later on in his life.
The book 'Running with scissors' is about the odd childhood of the author. His mother is deeply disturbed and sends him to live with her psychiatrist, who has an even more dysfunctional family.

Graff knows who is running the game.
Yes. If you trip, you could land on the scissors or you might accidently cut yourself depending on how you're holding it.
Running with scissors is considered dangerous because it increases the risk of accidental injury. Sharp scissors can easily cause cuts or puncture wounds if someone falls or trips while running. Additionally, the act of running can impair a person's ability to control their movements, making it more likely that they will inadvertently harm themselves or others. For safety reasons, it's best to walk carefully while handling sharp objects.
"Running with Scissors" is set in the 1970s and 1980s in Northampton, Massachusetts. The story takes place in the home of the eccentric Finch family, where the protagonist, Augusten Burroughs, finds himself navigating a tumultuous and unconventional upbringing.
