What does aunt Alexandra represent in this section chapters 12-15?

I think that Aunt Alexandra is not quite yet, but beginning to understand why Atticus is doing things the way he is. Perhaps she is beginning to see that coloured people aren't so degraded as people, compared to the white. Tom Robinson is an innocent man, and even Aunt Alexandra, who would hate to admit, knows that. Ms. Maudie is helping her by comforting and tell her that Atticus knows what he is doing, and he is doing the right thing.

In Chapter 24 of To Kill a Mockingbird, Aunt Alexandra hosts a Missionary Society Tea. She usually wants to see him stay out of the racial mess going on between the blacks and whites. But, as she mingles among her guests at the tea, listening to the women talking about how their servants are sulking, she finds a new sense of pride in the work Atticus is doing to repair the racial relations in the community.
