in chapter 28 of 'to kill a mocking bird' Scout & Jem get attacked on the way home from the pageant. they hear footsteps behind them, they start to run as they were scared.
then they get attacked, bob ewel grabs scout & trys to get him out of the ham costume, bob then turns on jem, breaking his arm which causes jem to pass out. a man (who later turns out to be boo radley) carries the children home to saftey.

Bob Ewell was killed by Boo Radley in October after he attacked Jem and Scout in "To Kill a Mockingbird." Boo intervened to protect the children and ended up fatally stabbing Bob Ewell in self-defense.
Bob Ewell came after Scout and Jem to hurt them. He had a knife. Boo Radley intervened and Bob Ewell was stabbed with his own knife. The cover story, though, was that he fell on his own knife.

They were being followed and later attacked by Mr. Bob Ewell, The father of Mayella Ewell. Mr. Ewell intended to kill Jem and Scout but got killed himself. Jem and Scout were rescued by Boo Radley, the mysterious neighbour who never came out.
When Bob Ewell saw Tom and Mayella he beat mayella. Later Bob and Mayella will say that Tom beat her and raped her.
