What happens to Clarisse?

She died by being hit by a car. We as readers can infer that the car that hit her was the car of some of her classmates because in the beginning of the story she was always afraid of her classmates running her over because they drive so fast and take pleasure in running other people over. One can also infer this because Clarisse loved walking the streets at night and that was when people would drive around as fast as they can. She does not come back in the story, but she is still a major part of the book because of the impact she made on Guy Montag and because he constantly brings her up throughout the story.
In the book it is said that Clarisse is hit by a moving car and dies. Montag gets this information from his wife Mildred, and is deeply saddened although the information may not be true.

In Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Clarisse disappears and it is implied that she is killed by the oppressive government for her non-conformist beliefs. Her mysterious disappearance serves as a catalyst for the protagonist, Montag, to question the society he lives in and ultimately rebel against it.
