Do you mean dramatic irony? That's when someone on a book/movie/etc. doesn't know something that the reader or person watching the movie does know.

For example, say there was a woman in a book who received a bouquet of flowers but there was a man who secretly knew she got it. So the dramatic irony would be that the woman did not know that he knew she got it. But YOU know he knows.
