I have traveled to and lived in a lot of places. I would have to say the most tranquil are the ones with the fewest people. Those include small communities or rural settings. For me, the most tranquil is the north shore of Prince Edward Island--sitting on the edge of a sand dune watching the ocean, listening to the waves, and feeling the wind on my face. Small communities along the shore there are very peaceful.
