Subplot is like the secondary plot of your story.

It means additional plot(s) to a movie, show, book, or play that help contribute to the main plot. Subplots are less important than main plots.

For example, in the movie "A Couch in New York", the main plot is about a shrink who counsels to his clients out of his home office in New York City and his clients usually lie down on his couch during therapy. Hence, why the movie is called "A Couch in New York". The subplots include: the shrink exchanging apartments with a female dancer in Paris, France and vice versa; the doctor counseling an ex boyfriend of the female dancer while staying in her home; the female dancer pretending to be a shrink to the doctor's clients while she stays in his home; the doctor comes back to NYC and is unable to come back to his home without an appointment, therefore, he has to stay with a friend, for the time being, until he manages to get an appointment and he doesn't say anything to the fake doctor; the doctor's dog gets attached to the female dancer and they go walking to the park and the doctor follows them to the park and the dog swims across the lake, and the doctor and the dancer ends up talking, etc.....

a secondary or subordinate plot, as in a play, novel, or other literary work; underplot
