An example of a flashback in "The Diamond Necklace" occurs when the narrator provides a detailed account of Madame Loisel's life leading up to the day she borrows the necklace. This flashback helps establish the character's background and motivations for her subsequent actions.
The back of a necklace is called a clasp.
'The Necklace' is mostly about a woman and her husband who are poor. There is a ball coming up and the woman borrows a necklace from her friend. It is a diamond necklace, then the woman borrowing it loses it and she and her husband spend 10 years paying back depts after they bought their friend a 5,000 frank necklace. At the end, it turns out the diamond necklace that was borrowed were fake diamonds.
The solution, or more correctly, the resolution, in 'The Necklace', is Mme Loisel learning that the necklace she had borrowed, lost and spent ten years in poverty paying for its replacement was practically worthless. Had she been more honest about losing it in the first place, she and her husband wold not have had to ruin their lives and perhaps health to replace it.
why Mathilde didn't go back to find her necklace when she discovered that she lost her necklace..^=^

Well zuko never "gave back" her necklace, Aang stole it back in the episode "the waterbending scroll" and gave it back to her at the very end.
I'm assuming you mean the diamonds get larger as they progess towards the fastening at the back, although I've not seen a necklace set in this way. Normally they are set with diamonds getting progressively large at the front, where more people will see them.
Sully gave the necklace back to Catherine as a symbol of his true feelings for her.
