If it is what I am thinking about it is a sub-classic ( glug glug) Health Problems Novel ( the Reader"s digest used to go for this type of stuff, alone of popular magazines, with the possible exception of PARENTS.- Okay the story deals with the health problems of a girl with what eventually turns out to be Cerebral Palsy- and the complex sequelae, it was claimed by the girl"s mother, she went to 24 different doctors.= Naturally not a Dennis The Menace laugh-a-thon. Subtitles or liner notes claimed ( She lived a Miracle!) implying some sort of miracle cure- which was advertising oversell. Somewhat interesting, this was never discussed by Jerry Lewis and his Muscular Dystrophy Telethon or related crippled- children"s charity activities on television, often ( in my opiniion) showcasing their handicap in a rather gross way, not a good thing- they weren"t making light of it, but did have it in prime focus. the Girl"s name was ( I believe she is still alive) Karen Killaleea, always get that last name wrong. The book was widely seen in paperback stalls into the seventies, but few people bought it.
