The main idea of "Sonagi" by Hwang Sunwon is the fleeting nature of love and the inevitability of change. The story depicts the brief, intense relationship between a teacher and a young girl during a sudden downpour, highlighting how passion can be intense but also transient. The rain symbolizes the impermanence of emotions and relationships.
Songsam, Tokchae are the two man characters and there is two support charcters; the old man with a wen and shorty.
The House of Hwang represented wealth, but also greed and corruption; ultimately, as result of their lack of morality, Hwang and his family lost their prestige and power, and the novel's main character Wang Lung had enough money to buy their house and land. The irony is that Wang Lung, who had gone from a life of poverty to gradually becoming rich and successful himself, had become just like the people in the House of Hwang.

Ah, the main idea is like a happy little tree in a painting. The stated main idea is like the big tree in the center that you can see clearly. The unstated main idea is like the smaller trees and bushes around it that support and enhance the big tree, adding depth and beauty to the whole painting. Just remember, every idea, whether stated or unstated, is important and adds to the overall picture.

The main idea of Cranes by Hwang Sun-Won is more of a symbolic thing; he uses different objects such as chestnuts and cigarettes, as well as the cranes in the story to convey his hope and his dream, along with his message. He is expressing the power of war, particularly civil war, which can rip apart families, neighbors and the best of friends. The story, unlike many other tragic civil war tales, is not focused on the idealogical difference btw Tok-Chae and Song-Sam. Rather, it is about the human tragedy of the Korean War. Tok-Chae and Song-Sam were ripped apart by the War. Song-Sam, on his return to his village, he finds Tok-Chae and decides to escort him to a Public Peace Police office a few miles away. On the way, he gets flashbacks and talks with Tok-Chae. These things help to change his mind and he frees Tok-Chae. This is symbolized by the two cranes which soared high into the sky. Hwang-Sun Won conveys his message effectively; unification will be achieved and is needed to repair such ties like Tok-Chae and Song-Sam. He is saying that the two cranes will fly together once more.
