Eugenie Onegin was one of the more bizarre if plausible (she may have been a Lady in Waiting or something like that) of the Anastasia imposters. She altered her name to Eugenie Smith. There was nobody in the Imperial family named Eugenie which is French and means (Well-Born- or Born to the Nobility) The Empress Eugenie of headgear fame, died in l920 at 94 years of age, she was French of Spanist descent and had nothign to do with the Russian Imperial family. Two different Ladies.
