there are different themes without the novel, these are
-bravery/ courage shown by jem which is one of the main themes
-childish innocence seen in scout
Obviously, RACISM was the main part this book was made for (dont know how you missed that)and Mrs. Dubose exemplified just as much bravery as Jem -you'd know if you read the book
the theme of the mockingbird in To Kill a Mockingbird is that, well, the mockingbird (like it said in the book) doesnt do anything or harm anyone- it just sits and chirps. and so, to kill a mockingbird, means that you are killing something that is very innocent... which can relate to people who judge people who are innocent.... if that makes sense!
The character who tells the story in "To Kill a Mockingbird" is Scout Finch, whose real name is Jean Louise Finch. She is a young girl growing up in the American South and narrates the events that unfold in the novel.
Scout
In "To Kill a Mockingbird," the mockingbird symbolizes innocence and goodness. Though there isn't a specific character named the mockingbird, it represents individuals like Tom Robinson and Boo Radley, who are unfairly judged and persecuted in the story.
Innocence and curiosity.
Tom Robinson he never hurt anybody but he was still killed. Also at the end when Bob attacked the children they never hurt anybody but they were still attacked
It is the summer of 1933 when the story begins.
I would say Tom Robinson and Boo Radley.
Tom is the main mockingbird in the story. A harmless and innocent individual who was shamelessly slaughtered.
In To Kill a Mockingbird, Tom Robinson is most like a mockingbird. This is because he is an innocent young man who gets killed as a reaction of a terrible chain of problems. Atticus said it's a sin to kill a mockingbird because they cause no harm to anybody, which is true also about Tom since he did not harm a soul.
SInce many people in this novel are innocent people who are "killed" mentally by the society around them. All they try to do is to bring joy. This is very similar to a mockingbird
it was boo... couldn't you tell..
He makes up a story about Bob Ewell falling and landing on his knife when he attacks the kids. He did this in order to protect Boo, who actually killed Bob, and to convince Atticus that it wasn't Jem with out reveling the truth
