The plot is what drives the story (hopefully). It is the essence, the quest, the reason for the characters to be together either on the pages or on the screen. There is almost always sub-plots, and your main characters growth arch from beginning to end of the story.
well basically the plot is .. the main part of the story like the storyline . Or what happens in the story is called the plot

"Race to Witch Mountain" (2009) is a "sequel" to the movies "Escape to Witch Mountain" (1975), "Return from Witch Mountain" (1978), and "Beyond Witch Mountain (1982 - a tv series pilot). There was a 1995 TV remake of the original "Escape" movie. The 2009 entry does not adopt all of the plot elements of the previous movies.

Plot is simply what happens in the story. You don't need examples, you just need to go read or watch a movie -- pretend you're explaining what happens to a friend and you'll have the plot. Here's a link to explain more about plot and plot elements.
No sequel is anticipated at present. "Race To Witch Mountain" (2009) is based on the 1968 novel "Escape to Witch Mountain", as were the movies "Escape to Witch Mountain" (1975 and 1995), "Return To Witch Mountain" (1978), and "Beyond Witch Mountain" (1982).
A retrospective plot tells of past events from the perspective of the present or future.
