Extemporaneous speaking is a speech and debate event. It is where you are given three questions about current events and asked to choose the one that you believe you can best answer. You then have thirty minutes to create a speech that answers this question. You are allowed to use note cards, but your speech is limited to 7 minutes in length. The question can relate to just about anything and you just try to keep talking as much as you can. You earn points by citing sources and making good points.
