Jay Gatsby gets his money through mysterious and questionable means, including bootlegging alcohol during the Prohibition era and engaging in other illegal activities. He is also rumored to have inherited wealth from a mysterious source.

The evening before Daisy's wedding she attends a party and becomes severely drunk. Jordan Baker takes her into a cold bath where she clings to a note from Gatsby. She is sobered up and gets married to Tom the next day at 5.
Gatsby decides he is going to confront Tom about his marriage to Daisy and demand that she admit she never loved him. He believes that once Daisy says this to Tom, it will prove her feelings for him and their love will prevail.
Gatsby has meticulously planned every detail of the reunion day with Daisy, from ordering flowers to preparing a lavish feast. He does this because he wants to impress Daisy and show her his wealth and success, hoping to win her heart once again. Gatsby has spent years dreaming of this moment and is determined to make it perfect to finally be with Daisy.
She receives a letter from Gatsby, and she is drunk. She orders to have the string of pearls returned to its owner, who is Tom Buchanan. She says that she changes her mind about marrying Tom. She refuses to let go of Gatsby's letter even when she entered the tub. Until it started to break into little pieces did she let Jordan set the paper in a soap bowl. The next morning, she seemed fine and she wore the pearl necklace around her neck and married Tom Buchanan.
Daisy appears conflicted and nostalgic upon reuniting with Gatsby. She is torn between her feelings for him and her loyalty to her current life with Tom. Daisy seems to be emotionally overwhelmed by the reunion and the memories it stirs up.
She and Gatsby are giving each other secreetive looks that have obvious feeling behind them, and Tom notices. Later, Tom brings it up, and Daisy admits taht she is in love with gatsby once he (Gatsby) tells Tom that's she is.
Gatsby leaves Nick's house shortly after he arrives on the day that Nick has invited Daisy over upon Gatsby's request because he is too nervous and wants it to seem like a coincident that Gatsby is there. He leaves when Daisy arrives, but circles around the house and comes back after walking in the rain. -- that's the only time i can think of that Gatsby is ever at Nick's house
Gatsby throws lavish parties to attract Daisy's attention and create an aura of wealth and success around himself. He hopes that through these parties, Daisy will come to one of them, rekindle their romance, and ultimately choose to be with him again. Additionally, the parties also serve to distract Gatsby from his own feelings of loneliness and emptiness.

On her wedding day, Daisy comes close to calling off her marriage to Tom. This was because she received a letter from Gatsby, with whom she'd had a love affair. Jordan knows this because she was part of the wedding party and witnessed Daisy's little meltdown.
Early July 6-8, 1922 because on page 11 daisy says that in two weeks it will be the longest day of the year (Summer Solstice on June 21st)so that means that Nick is at Daisy's house early june.
