Well I think John Henry was born in a small house and in a small town. After he was born his mama came out to the porch with him and he jumped out of his mama's arms and started to grow. And that is how he all started.

John Henry raced against a steam powered hammer and won. why did he do this...he wanted to save the jobs of his fellow workers by proving that man power was better than the "new technology" of the time. If John Henry did not win many workers would have been replaced by a machine.
