You really should just read Chapter 9. They go to Finch's Landing where Scout fights with her cousin Francis Hancock because Francis tells her that Atticus is shaming the family by defending Tom Robinson. Francis even uses the the phrase "n----- lover" so Scout winds up punching him. Uncle Jack spanks her without listening to both sides of the story, so Scout doesn't speak to him until they are back home in Maycomb. Eventually, the truth comes out, though.
Francis spends each Christmas at Finch Landing to honor his late grandmother's tradition of hosting a Christmas party there. It serves as a way for him to remember and keep the memory of his grandmother alive, as well as a way to stay connected to his family roots and history.
