He's a bit cheeky, isn't he? He is pretty pert with his mother, then when a couple of murderers show up at the door, he calls one of them a "shag-eared villain" and attacks him. True he gets skewered for it almost immediately, but you've got to admit the kid's got moxie.
Lady Macduff tells her son that his father is dead because he has fled and left them without protection, which she views as a cowardly act. She emphasizes that his father is a traitor and no longer cares for them.
Macduff believes that Malcolm and Donalbain, the sons of King Duncan, are responsible for killing their father.
Macduff suspects Malcolm and Donalbain of hiring their father's murderers because they fled from the scene immediately after their father's murder, which made it look like they were involved. Additionally, their sudden departure created doubt and suspicion among the other characters about their motives.
Unlike his father who trusted too easily, Malcolm does not trust Macduff. He does not trust him because he thinks that Macduff may be secretly working for Macbeth. To test this theory he rambles lies giving examples of how he is not fit to be king. However, it is Macduff's polite reaction of disagreeing with Malcolm which makes Malcolm believe Macduff.
The wrong people. In order to thwart the prophecy about Banquo's children becoming kings, he has Banquo killed, but not his son Fleance. Fleance will go on to become the ancestor of kings. Macbeth killed the father when he should have killed the son. Then, in order to try to thwart the prophecy about Macduff, he has Macduff's son (and wife and other children) murdered. Macduff will go on to defeat Macbeth. Macbeth killed the son when he should have killed the father.
Macduff learns that Macbeth has murdered Macduff's family.
Macduff's first name is not mentioned in Shakespeare's play "Macbeth." He is simply referred to as Macduff throughout the play.
Macbeth is Macduff's enemy. The three witches told Macbeth to beware of Macduff, and Macbeth responded by ordering the deaths of Macduff and all the members of his household. Macduff had already fled to England, however, so Macduff's wife, children, and servants were killed but he wasn't. When Macduff found out, he set out to get revenge.
