The children thought Atticus Finch was too old because he could not play outside with the or shoot a gun.
Atticus chose not to help carry out Miss Maudie's furniture when her house was on fire because he wanted to ensure the safety of his children, Scout and Jem, who were with him at the time. He believed his primary responsibility was to protect them during the chaotic situation.

he is a prime minister
Because Atticus (jem and scouts father) is old. He's about 50 when all of the other kids' dads are around 30 years old. Their dads are able to do so much more then Atticus (so they think) and their dad is too old to be fun or interesting like the others.
Atticus just takes out his hankerchef, whips his face clean and when Mr Ewell threatens to fight him then and there Atticus puts his hands in his pockets. Mr Ewell asks If Atticus is too afraid to fight and Atticus says "No, too old." and walks off.
Yes, Atticus was initially reluctant to play tackle football with Jem due to his age and physical limitations. However, he eventually agrees to play after Scout insists, showing his commitment to spending time with his children and fostering a strong relationship with them.

no because she was too old to have children
Like all young children, Scout (and Jem) did not see their father very clearly. To kids, a parent is either a saint or failure. They don't see parents' conflicts or even their feelings. Scout thought Atticus was weak because she didn't see his inner and deliberate strengths.
I don't think this is the right question becacause the jury that made the decision was not from Maycomb. They were from Old Sarum. But I believe that Atticus was glad because the jury took al ong time to come to a decision on the final saying of the trial. He thinks that Maycomb is going to change, but is going to take sometime. Atticus thinks that people just don't understand things. He thinks that Maycomb people judge too quickly.
Atticus tells Scout that he does not play football because he doesn't have the time for it, as he's too old to start playing at his age and he has other responsibilities to attend to. Additionally, he explains that he never developed a liking for the sport.
Their father is very fair in the way he raises them. For example, when Scout comes home complaining about her teacher at school or their nasty neighbor, Atticus tries to listen to her point of view bu then explain to her what is right. Also, for punishments, Atticus will make the children do things that teach them a lesson, such as having to read to the nasty neighbor everyday. The children respect Atticus, but have trouble seeing him as a strong or heroic figure because of his age.
