Well, in the scene where Atticus lets Cal and Aunt Alexandra know that Tom Robinson has died and Scout comments on how Aunt Alexandra acts just fine and like everything's totally normal despite what she's just learned and everything that's happening when she and Scout return to the missionary circle, Scout realizes that the true meaning of being a "lady" is being strong and putting on a good face on no matter what bad things are going on. That's also when Scout gains respect towards Aunt Alexandra and her perspective towards her changes from negative to positive(as well as most readers' perspective does).
So I guess the ladies' missionary circle represents society and the true meaning of being a lady, fitting in to what society wants.
Grace Merriweather is one of the women at Aunt Alexandra's missionary. She speaks of J. Everett Grimes and his missionary work with the Mrunas in Africa but is hypocritical for lacking sympathy and kindness.
