Why does Scrooge hate Christmas in A Christmas Carol?

Later he decided that money was the only worth , love caused him pain and he lost those he loved (Fan his sister died early giving birth to Fred). He focuses on not making attachments using hsi work solely to escape - Over years he hardened but it was clear to see when the ghost of his past showed im scenes that he remembered an d still have a heart
