Why is Atlantis a mystery?

Because it was an strange civilization. No civilization has never had contact with Atlantis civilization mainly because it has been said to exist in areas of the globe that we have only recently (last 150 - 300years) been able to reach so no civilization could have met them unless the atlantians came to them which apparently never happened, because if they had then there would have been much more evidence for it than there is now

There are several different theories and explantations on how Atlantis disappeared. The first explanation is that there was a huge earthquake in Atlantis that destroyed Atlantis, and soon after, Atlantis sank to the ocean floor. The second explanation is that there was a flood that killed everyone on Atlantis adn causing Atlantis to become nothing but ruins. The last explanation that I know of is that Atlantis had very advanced technology. They created a very advanced space ship, but when they tried it, something malfunctioned in the ship, causing it to come crashing down onto Atlantis, thus destroying Atlantis. I do not know if these explanations are true. I did some research on Atlantis and this is all that I know so far.

Atlantis was destroyed about 11,500 years ago (9,500 B.C.) during the last polar shift. It was, then, located at the same latitude as Australia, but after the Earth's axis shifted, it became Antarctica. There have been numberous maps redrawn of Antarctica as being the center of the world around 600 years ago, way before the topography of Antarctica was known. These maps label the ice covered continent as "Atlantis". Before the pole shift, they planned on taking over the Rama empire, now where Inda is located. India had some advanced weaponry, comparable to ours now, and nuked Atlantis just before or during the months of the pole shift. This finished them off, as they were already weakened by the civil war between the Sons of Belial (service-to-self oriented) and the Sons of Ra (service-to-others oriented). Some of the Atlantian priests were forewarned of the attack and understood the nature of the 5,260 year astronomical cycle, and fled to distant lands to colonize and teach/preach. These lands were Maya, Egypt, Aztec, some lands off Japan that are now under water (massive pyramids are found deep under the ocean there) and many other places. Their science was largely misunderstood, as they were seen as gods to primitive people, and their teachings became known as gospel. Enter, religion.
