The python is a sacred animal to the Ibo. Killing a python would be seen as directly assaulting the Ibo beliefs.
It may be that the python was never killed, but that is not fully explored in the book.
Okonkwo wants to violently force the Christians out of the village with whips.
Okonkwo is disappointed that the villagers would defy the gods of the fathers as such. He is disappointed that the church has not been driven out of the village along with its madmen. Later, village leaders decline to use force to eject Christians from the village, preferring instead to ostracize the Christians by excluding them from the markets, clay pits, and rivers. After Okoli dies, the villagers stop their ban.

This never happens. No is ever asked to kill the sacred python. To do so intentionally was an unthinkable act. A man who did so unintentionally would have to ask forgiveness of the Goddess of the Earth, and sacrifice and repent.
In Python, you can enter an integer using the input() function, which captures user input as a string. To convert this string to an integer, you can use the int() function. For example: user_input = input("Enter an integer: ") integer_value = int(user_input) This will convert the input string to an integer, assuming the user enters a valid integer.
Okonkwo believes that direct action is needed to get rid of the Christians. He believes they should be removed from Mbanta by force if necessary. The other tribesman are content to let their gods fight their own battles, and believe they are doing so when the clansmember who killed (or bragged of killing) a sacred python suddenly dies of illness.
Here is something I made to convert height while learning python. height_cms = 190 inches = height_cms / 2.54 feet = inches / 12 remainder_inches = inches % 12 print "%d cms is %d feet and %d inches." % (height_cms, feet, remainder_inches)
