Edit: It was banned because it was thought as a bad influence on children, and the general public. Especially children, because books like those leave impressions on young minds. It was a threat to the parents, and teachers of that age. We as a society matured since then, and realized that it was a bit over kill to ban a book out of fear our kids would be unruly.~Aurion
