Joseph Barr dollars, which were minted in 1964 as a one-time release during the transition of the U.S. Mint's leadership, are often considered collectibles. While their face value is one dollar, they can fetch higher prices among numismatists, typically ranging from $1 to several dollars depending on condition and demand. However, their actual market value may vary, so it's best to consult current numismatic resources or dealers for an accurate assessment.

What is the value of a bar dollar?

You could be referring to a variety of the 1890 CC Morgan dollar which has a "bar" connecting the wreath to the eagle's tail feathers. This was caused by a damaged die. Another possibility is that you're thinking of BARR dollars, which are $1 bills dated 1963B and signed by Treasury Secretary Joseph Barr. Barr only served for one month so many people erroneously think that very few bills were printed and any you find are valuable. However, so-called "Barr notes" were actually printed for nearly a year and they're quite common - in fact, nearly a half-billion were put into circulation. Please determine which item you're interested in and post a new, separate question.

What would make a dollar bill signed by Joseph Barr valuable?

"Barr notes" are assumed to be more valuable than others because Joseph Barr only served as Treasury Secretary for about a month at the end of the Johnson Administration. However nearly half a billion bills with his signature were printed so they only command a slight premium over others from the same era. As of 02/2009 U.S. Currency Auctions lists a fair market value of an uncirculated Barr note at only $2.00. Many sellers on eBay are under the mistaken impression that these bills are rare - or are trying to play off others' lack of knowledge - and are attempting to charge highly inflated prices.

Is Premier Lending Tree Group a legitimate loan company?

Yes, I contacted the Better Business Beurau in California and the lady I talked to said that they had a complaint on this company. They ask for a down payment at least 5% of the loan amount before you get the loan that you ask for. If you try to go through this company, fax the contract to 909-825-6246, the Better Business Bureau in California. Be very careful if you go through this company. They may seem legit, but they are not. 9/1/10: I have had the WORST experience with this company. The customer service is awful and rude. I made $500 payment in advance then didn't receive the loan. I was then told after making numerous calls to Simon Barr that the "lender" wanted me to purchase an insurance policy on the loan. I stated no, there is nothing in the contract to suggest this and requested a full refund ASAP. I have made complaints to the BBB and consumer affairs in California. Only spoke to a manager, James Whitmore once and he was rude as well and promised me the loan would be processed, another lie told by this company. BEWARE!
