It depends on the kind of company, If it is a public traded company say OTC, the best way to detect is looking at the Level 2 of the stock. When you see bearish trades of the same size going in a lot. Let say you keep seeing 20,000 size trades coming in a lot by one or two market makers. if it keeps happening frequently by the exact same market makers, then there is possible dilution.
