Currency values fluctuate on an hourly, even minute-by-minute basis. As of Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 2:55 PM PDT, 40,000 British Pounds can be converted to 62,190 US Dollars.

Most major currencies such as the US Dollar, the British Pound and the Japanese Yen will vary only slowly, until some sort of crisis occurs. Then things can change abruptly. The Euro may be about to undergo some quick changes, since Greece is apparently rejecting the proposed monetary reforms, and may be forced to stop using the Euro and go back to the Greek Drachma. If that happens, you can expect the nominal value of the Drachma will crash, and this may drag down the Euro, and possibly the Russian Ruble at the same time.
