Assuming not every guest will have two glasses of punch (some will have none), and knowing that a gallon of liquid at a specific gravity of 1 has 128 oz of mass, multiply 200 (number of estimated drinks needed) times 6 (an 8-oz. cup that is less than full), which equals 1200. Divide this number by 128, which equals 9.3 gallons of punch. Keep in mind this is a very liberal estimate, assuming that everyone will have at least one cup of punch, and half the crowd will have two cups. I would suggest between 6-8 gallons should be plenty, depending on the length of the affair, and what other beverages are being served.
