I guess not. Investment expert Suze Orman thinks even a 680 is not good. Which is why most sites tell you that any number over 700 is probably a good one. Despite whatever these sites tell you, speaking from personal experience, even if you have numbers in the 800's (which I used to have, and I had been told by several banks that I have 'walk on water' credit) for any number of years, the moment you slip, the moment you fail to make a payment - boom, that is enough for your credit to go down into the 500's - which is what happened to me. I took a sabbatical to volunteer in an underdeveloped country, so could not get mail for a year - when I got back, my 800+ credit had gone down to 500's. I am told that it will stay like that at least for another 7 more years even after making ALL the delinquent payments in bulk.
A very unfair system, I would think.
