it is something that someone says to get your attention, in a letter!
attention line
The sample letter with attention should be formal in nature and must have two addresses. The attention should be drawn to a given reference and duly signed.
Direct Line Cost
Uncomfortable around others, fidgeting/not paying attention/'non caring' voice.
ATTENTION LINES ALWAYS GO FIRST, BEFORE THE ACTUAL ADDRESS. This is not an actual address, just an example. As below:ATTN: Miss Jane SmithMicrosoft Company1212 Main StreetJoetown, MA 01262You don't really need the "ATTN:" annotation if you have the full name, but it's useful if, for example, you've been told to mark correspondence to "Joe's" attention.Fortunately, the address on the envelope is not as formal as the correspondence in the envelope. Where you put the 'attention line' and/or the 'in care of' depends on your postal system's regulations or level of automation.Name (you don't need to use the word attention)Title (if applicable)Companyaddresscity, state zipcodeName of recipientc/o Name applicable for this addressaddresscity, state zipcodeA few people put the "attn line" immediately below the address or in the lower left corner of the envelope, not realizing that this delays the delivery of the letter. The automated systems expect the zip code to be on the lowest line on the letter. When someone writes something else below the zip code (such as an attention or c/o line) the automated system doesn't understand and kicks it out for a human to (eventually) puzzle out what you really meant.
your resume doesn't generally have an attention line your attention line would go on the cover letter.
Yes, the word "Attention" should be capitalized when appearing in an attention line in a formal letter or communication.
Forget using the attention line. Just put the persons name in the first line of the delivery address.
-REFERENCE LINE-SUBJECT LINE-ATTENTION LINE
A business letter should always be direct and to the point and that includes the "Attention" line. This is important whether or not you know the name of the person the letter will be going to. Examples are: Attention: Customer Service Attention: Sales Manager Attention: Purchasing Department Attention: Accounting
attention line
That depends on the context; but usually an underlining means that somebody wanted to draw attention to something, in this case, to a specific number.
you have to be more specific. if you mean attention as in "look out" then it would be "achtung". But if you mean attention as in "attention, please!" it would be "Bitte um ihre aufmerksamkeit!"
The interrupt line, of course.
The Attention Line is placed above the Recipient Line, that is, above the name of the firm to which the mailpiece is directed. see also: http://pe.usps.gov/text/pub28/pub28c2_004.htm
he wants attention...
You use an 'attention line' when you address the letter to the business name and address. The attention line tells the person who sorts the mail at that business which person or department should get your letter. An alternative to a separate attention line is: Ms. Ellen Essential Marketing Manager ABC Company P.O. Box... Or, if you don't know the person's name: Marketing Manager ABC Company P.O.Box...
