We were away last week, and when we returned we had three messages on our answering machine from this company - which I had never before heard of. The most significant part of the message was the repetition of our younger son's first name. There was something "off" about the calls and the callers, who were not professional in identifying themselves or in leaving the messages, and they used heavily accented English.
Friday, we were called while home - the phone number on our CID was 800-214-5291. Again, the caller used heavily accented English and said he had to talk to a person with our younger son's name about "a personal business matter". It all sounded very fishy and I gave no information, but told him to stop calling. Our son is an adult who has been out of our household for six years. He earns a good salary, is very responsible, and there is no reason this sort of company should be calling him. When I told him about the calls, he was suspicious (as that age-group is) about identity theft.
Yesterday, Sunday around 5:25PM, we received another call! This time the phone number did not appear - just "unknown number". This time the heavily accented caller said he thought our younger son was my "spouse". I told him he was not my spouse. He refused to give me any specifics as to why he was calling, so I told him the calls were harrassment and to STOP making them. Afterward, I called our local police and am going in to talk to them today.
