deposit-feeding is one of the five different types of feeding adaptions that have evolved among animals. Deposit feeders feed on the particles of matter in the soil (normally the sediment) that contain orangic matter.

examples of deposit-feeders would include earthworms, terribellids, and fiddler crabs.
