The first Web site built was at CERN and was first put online on 6 August 1991 by Timothy John Berners-Lee. The first website was info.cern.ch; however, there are no screen shots of the original page. Its contents are reproduced at the following web address: http://www.w3.org/History/19921103-hypertext/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html The CERN website may still be accessed and contains much useful historical information about the developement of the worldwide web and some biographical information about the people involved in developing it.
