The web site of the US Mint (www.usmint.gov) answers the question. The dimensions of a standard brick of 99.999 pure gold, stored by the United States Treasury at Fort KNox, Kentucky, USA, are 7 inches x 3-5/8 inches x 1-3/4 inches. Each gold brick weighs 400 troy ounces, or about 27.5 pounds.

Value of gold fluctuates daily. "Spot" value times the weight of the brick will give you its value.

Spot value of gold at close of the markets on December 14, 2008 was $826.70 per ounce. A 400 ounce gold brick would be valued at $330,680.00 at that time.

Bullion values worldwide can be tracked at www.amark.com, and many other money market sites.
