Valley Tin is used on roofs where two roofs section meet perpendicular forming a valley. This creates a transitional for water to drain from both sides of the valley roofs. Two types of Valley Tin can be used, smooth/rolled metal or metal with an inverted V in the center. The inverted V serves to check the water speed on steep roofs to prevent an overshot of water causing a leak in the adjoining roof. Three metals are common in fabricating valley tins. Aluminum, Galvanized Metal & Copper

The 1960's song "One Tin Soldier" is derived from the bible. The lyric synopsis is this (taken from Wikipedia): "One Tin Soldier" tells the abstract story of a hidden treasure and two neighboring peoples, the Mountain People and the Valley People. The Valley People are aware of a treasure on the mountain, buried under a stone; they send a message to the Mountain People demanding those riches. When told they can share the treasure, the Valley People instead decided to take it all by force. After killing all the Mountain People, the victors move the stone and find nothing more than a simple message: "Peace on Earth." Ironically, the valley people destroyed the treasure in pursuit of it. Although, you may find bible passages related to it if you look. Just don't take anything out of context like many people do.
