Why school fund-raisers are important

Have you ever wondered about how your school uses the money you give them? How do you know they are using it wisely? Does it help you in your education? These are all questions that you might have never thought about.

Have you ever wondered about how your school uses the money you give them? Think about it. Sometimes, they use it to build new gym floors, and change carpets. They also use it for activities and special parties. They also use it to pay salaries, repair things, buy textbooks, and get better computers and laptops. One weird thing is that they sometimes use a little of the money to buy food.

Now, since you know what they are using it for, you have to now if it is useful for you. For gym floors, and constuction, or basically anything, it would be useful for kndergarten, and 1st and 2nd grade (mabye 3rd). However, for the 4th and 5th grade, it would not be that useful, because they only would use it for a while, since they will be transitioning over to middle school soon.

Finally, you have to know if it helps you in your education. Textbooks, and even computers will help in education. Gym floors don't even need to be replaced. Only if it is torn, and frayed. Otherwise, it would just be a wast of money. Activity money should be paid for 5th graders, for their last year at elementary school. Also for food, why do they use the money for food, when we pay for the food (meal checks). It's really crazy.

Remember, be smart and spend your money wisely. Think about it, before you spend it. This is how I think about donating money to your school.

The thing that bothers me about school fundraisers is that they have kids selling products that only yield 3-5% of the money spent to the school. Donating to schools in any case makes the community stronger because the children have what they need.
