Your starting check number should typically be the next number in sequence after the last check you used.
When filling out a check, you should put the next sequential number that follows the last check you wrote. This number helps you keep track of your transactions.
On the back of the card, next to the signature, there should be a three digit number in a silver or white box. That is the security code.
