Provided you have enough room for them they should be OK although Bettas like their water abit warmer than guppies. The basic rules for sucessfull fishkeeping are. 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. (A betta needs at least 3 gallons and a guppy at least 1 gallon so you would need at least a 5 gallon tank) :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. If you stick to those rules your fish will stand a chance provided you also keep them at the right temperature and feed them the right foods. If you fail in any of the above I can guarantee that your fish will be constantly getting sick and dying before they should.
