Goldfish are huge waste producers and for that reason need quite a substantial volume of water. Rules like the inch per gallon rule don't work, and if they did, they could only be applied to small shoaling fish under 2" in tanks over 15 gallons.
Because Goldfish get so large (at least 6" for Fancies, at least 10" for Commons/Comets, excluding tail) they need a big, long tank, tall tanks are not suitable, and they should be very well filtered, ideally with a filter rated for double the volume of the tank.
A single Fancy Goldfish needs a minimum of 20 US Gallons. A single Common/Comet at least 55 US gallons (or a 600 US gallon pond is better!).
Don't underestimate these fish, they may be common in pet stores and sold for ridiculously cheap prices, or even given away, but they are actually very high maintenance and expensive fish to keep properly, not to mention they should live over 15 years!
I can't say what I suggest is a "toy", but my goldfish strangely like to go into small places. I suggest that you get decorations with little tunnel things or small hiding places and windows and stuff, because my goldfish always hang out in those places. They're cute when they go through the small places too, like when they go under this bridge I got from the petstore!
No you cannot put a frog with goldfish; goldfish belong with goldfish
That is small better stick with a goldfish.
no never put suckerfish with goldfish as they will suck the slimes and scales off the goldfish and kill them. as for shrimp, i dont know???
When the crayfish ages, it has a chance of chopping your goldfish to pieces, and possibly eat it.
It is generally not safe to put small goldfish with big ones in the same tank because the big ones may bully or even eat the smaller ones. It is recommended to keep goldfish of similar sizes together to ensure their safety and well-being.
Do not, no matter what put a goldfish and a betta together unless you want the goldfish to die!!!
If it is a small goldfish, it will physically fit in something that small. But, it will not live very long in it. If you wish to keep goldfish alive, you need at least ten gallons of water for each goldfish along with a good filter and a heater to keep the water temperature stable. With proper care goldfish can easily live 15+ years.
Sure. You can put a goldfish in anything that can hold liquid. But the best thing to do is to put it in a tank with a pump so it gets oxygen. I don't recommend leaving a goldfish in a cup for a long period of time.
Goldfish need plenty of room to swim around and get very large. In a 1000 gallon pond you could put 25-50 goldfish just keep in mind that goldfish grow very large and need about 20-30 gallons each when full grown.
It is important to remember to put things in a goldfish tank, even goldfish get bored. Some of my suggestions for tank decor are artificial plants and a "hidey hole" for your goldfish.
Go to the plaza then go to the goldfish zone then there is four places you could go through in the goldfish zone
