First make sure if you put tap water in there you put water cleanser in there which can be bought at a pet store. Keep your betta in the bag and float it in the tank for 15 min. then without dumping the bag water in the tank use a net to move your betta to the tank.
Go fish
They are scared. esecially whenthey move into a new tank.
keeping multiple bettas in the same tank is not reccomended
None are recommended if the Betta is a male.
No they cannot, also if you put two Betta fish together, they will fight.
No, don't risk it. Serpae tetras are fin-nippers and they'll constantly stress out your Betta. Especially in a small tank such as an 8 gallon, I would find something else to go with the serpaes. (:
Bettas can swim anywhere in a tank but they tend to hang towards the top third most of the time.
It depends on what other fish you'll have. I have the same thing going on right now, new tank but a baby male Betta with nowhere to go just yet. I'm doing Platies but in the case of having a BABY betta, if they're together when the betta is young it could possibly work out better. Otherwise, add your other community fish FIRST then add the betta. Think about it this way: You put your betta in. He claims the whole tank as his new territory. You add other fish. He must defend it, therefore, he constantly chases, injures, or even kills your other fish. It would be less stressful and safer to put your other fish in first. I'm getting my three Platies very soon, so hopefully my little guy will turn out to be a friendly tankmate. It IS very possible to house bettas with different kinds of fish, but you should have a bigger tank - 7 gallons or more with less fish is probably safest, but it really depends on the betta. Try to find a more mellow betta if possible!
Just watch how they interact and if the betta is being aggressive isolate him. Bettas can be with other fish as long as the betta is a different color and there arent any fish with similar fins.
Well you a betta fish can stay in a bag until you buy a tank for the betta. If you put a betta in a car and it's like 105 degrees out side they can die less than 2 minutes because it's so hot and the water will become hot. If it's like winter they can die too because the waiter will go low and it's not the right temperature. Hope it help you.
Yes a Betta can go to the bottom of a tank and stay there for quite some considerable time. The length of time the fish would be capable of remaining before surfacing and taking a breath of air would vary depending on various factors including temperature of the water.
Yes i have my betta in a MiniBow fish tank for over a month. It comes with a filter and a tank cover with a light. My betta seems really happy. If you are a newcomer to bettas, I would also recomend using the trial pack of water cleaner but do not use the fish food! Go to a nearby Petco or Petsmart and get Betta Bio gold it is a variety of food so your betta will love it. Finally, please clean your tank every 1-2 weeks
