Does a hermit crab have to be in the sun?

It doesnt have to, but sometimes they want some sun to play :) dont always put it in the sun though, because the sun will dry out the tank leaving lower humidity, and Hermit Crabs need 75% humitity.

Hermit crabs need air, water, food, and space just like every other animal.

Yes a hermit crab needs light, but just as much as gets through the roof of the cage. They don't need anything special.

I wouldn't use one, but i would use a light for the night for hermies because they are nocturnal and love darkness, i use heaters personallt though.
