Seahorse pregnancies doesn't compare well to how other animals work.

It's the female who make the eggs, but she deposits them in a pouch on the male seahorse's stomach for him to fertilize and then carry while the eggs develop.

When the eggs hatch, the pouch opens, and tiny, tiny sea horses swim out to start their own lives.
