John L. Cable died on 1971-09-15.
I would say the German Porsche 917, which won the LeMans in 1970 and 1971. It also holds the distance record for the 24 hours of LeMans with 5335.313 KM. Lastly it does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of more than 240 mph.
It is internal to the alternator, voltage regulators are used on cars with generators. You could fix it, but its easyer to just buy a new alternator.
To fix the hood release on a 1971 Beetle, first, check the cable for any breaks or fraying; if damaged, replace it. If the latch mechanism is stuck, spray it with penetrating oil to loosen any rust or debris, then manually operate it to ensure it moves freely. Adjust the cable tension if the release feels loose or unresponsive. If necessary, consult a repair manual for specific adjustments or part replacements.
Depends on which engine it has. With any V8 is going to get poor mileage. Less than 20 miles per gallon for sure.
the 71 cutlass has no cable pull on latch in the middle of grill or just below frt. bumper
It would be mounted to a bracket that is bolted to the intake manifold behind the carburetor, just follow the coil wire leading from the center of the distributor cap, the other end is attached to the ignition coil.
