Is a regular aquarium filter better or a bio-wheel filter?
I personally prefer the biowheel. The important thing to remember is that you must always keep it running and never loose your aerobic bacteria in the filter medium. Always rinse the media in clean water that has no chlorine and never clean all the media at the same time.
What is the best fish tank filter?
Purchase an outside power filter (try one of the newer biowheel filters), make sure it is the correct size for your tank. A canister filter is the best kind. It works the best, and you can change the filter media around to suit your needs.
How do you make your betta fish healthier?
i have 3 betta fish and they are very healthy. 1 would be having at least a five gallon tank. 2 would be buying a temporary treat. like blood worms or brine shrimp. 3 would be having the water conditioned at room temp. and having a filter would let their fins grow back if they are rotting. 4 is have a few plants in with the fish. maybe a live one maybe very flexible. but i do not recommend hard plants. for they will tear up the fins. trust me it happend. 5 maybe get him a friend. i have 2 neon tetras in a tank at the same time with 2 female bettas and a male. they dont even care who is swimming around them. but they had to get comfortable with eachother. 6 dont forget the gravel in any 1 gallon tank and up.
