If by a failed swim bladder -you mean sitting at the bottom of the tank unable to swim to the surface -then there are a couple of options.Try feeding the fish skinned peas(this is if your fish is constipated:the pea works as a laxitive).Try raising the temperature of your aquarium. The fish may have a bacterial infection which should be treated with medication and by using epsom salts.Talk to a vet and see if you can have air extracted from the swim bladder or have a small section of it removed. If these still don't work and your fish truly has a failed swim bladder theres not much you can do. I've heard of a lady in the UK who had a fancy goldfish with a failed swim bladder .The fish was struggling to get to the surface so she tied a very bouyant object to the fish and ever since the fish has been able to swim up and down just fine.I suppose you could tie a heavy object to the fish if it has the opposite problem.Don't give up on the fish: theres still hope even though swim bladder flukes can be frustrating and hard to treat ;0)

alot of times it helps alot to feed fissh that have swimbladder problems peas.
