Can two tetras live in a bowl?

No fish can live successfully in a bowl. Far better you either throw the bowl away or use it as a vase. If you really want to keep fish get a reasonable sized aquarium to keep your fish in. There is a basic rule that all successfull fish keepers use and that rule is "1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water" For you to keep 2 Tetras successfully you would need at least a nominal 5 gallon tank with a heater/thermostat (set at 75F), thermometer, Cycled filter, coverglass, Lights, gravel, and live plants.

How do you set up a fish bowl?

I will asume this is for a goldfish or a beta. If it is some other kind if fish it may need filteratin, areation or circulating water, so make sure it will be okay in a bowl rather than an Aquarium. first you need a bowl, some aquarium rocks or marbles for substrate (to cover the bottom of the bowl) chlorine free water. and whatever decorative items you want (plants of some kind of figurine. this is not a necesity) Put the rocks in the bottom of the bowl, an inch or a half inch deep. Put in the deccorations if you have some. Now for the water, you can't just use water streight from the tap because tap water has chemicals (like chlorine ) in it so nothing can live in it, including fish. There are a number of options here. You can set the water out in an open container for 24 hours and the chlorine will simply evaporate, leaving it safe for your fish. You can buy drops that remove chlorine from the water instantly, or you can buy bottled water (make sure that it is pure water and chemical free). Now you need to add ther fish. it is important that the temprature of the water the fish comes home in be aproximately the same as the water in the bowl, so don't just dump him streight in. If the bowl is large enough, flote the bag with the fish in it in the top of the bowl for about 15 minutes before putting him in the bowl. if not set it beside the bowl for 15 minutes the result will be aproximately the same. one more thing. when you buy the fish, make sure you also ger the apropriate food for it. the bowl will need to be cleaned frequently, once a week to once a month depending on the type and number of fish and the size if the bowl. Just catch the fish and put them, with some of their water into another container, dump the rest of the water, rinse the bowl and rocks with plain tap water. DO NOT USE SOAP!!!! and put it all back together.

In a fish tank which way do you turn the filter?

There are so many different types of filter it is hard to give instructions/direction on how to set one up. The filter outlet needs to send the water away from the filter.

What do you do if your fish tank really stinks and why does it... ive had the tank set up for about a week with fish in it i know it probably has something to do with cycling the tank...?

Make sure that the filter bag that is in your filter is clean. The cause can also b too many fish or over feeding.

How do you take care of your goldfish?

when getting supplies: about a 10" goldfish bowl, small aquarium rocks, goldfish food, a real or fake fish plant, and a fish bowl decoration (any different style: shells, ships etc. just one or two)setting up bowl: place rocks in fish bowl. rinse your bowl w/ the rocks in a large sink, to be sure no excess paint or dust is in your bowl. Now it's time to start "decorating" your fish bowl, but first fill up your bowl w/ water a tad bit colder than room temperature. Place plant and decor in bowl, slightly "planting" the items in the rocks.(make sure when you add your fish, that the water is the same temurature as the place were he was originally in) Now you can put your fish in your bowl!caring for your fish: you need to weekly clean your fish bowl. find a temporary plastic bowl large enough for your fish (fill w/water!). with a fish net scoop your fish from his permanent home (you must be very gentle and slow when scooping). place your fish in the temporary bowl (if your fish needs help getting out of the net, help him by giving him a gentle push out of the net). set your fish in a safe spot. bring your permanent bowl to your large sink. take out all decor and scrub under running cold water (throughout this cleaning process keep water cold). set scrubbed decor aside. fill your bowl have way with water, and put a plastic bag on your hand. mix the rocks in the water w/ your hands, getting all algae and "dirt" out from the bottom. empty the bowl (make sure no rocks escape!). fill the bowl again 1/2 way. take some rocks in your hand and rub them on all sides in bowl, this gets algae of the sides. repeat the mixing process about 4 to 5 times. Now fill your bowl half way w/ water. add your plant and decor to your bowl. dry the outside of your bowl with a wash cloth so that the bowl doesn't slip. bring the bowl to were your fish is. if your temporary bowl is wide remove fish with net first, then water. if your temp. bowl is not wide poor all together slowly into permanent bowl. Great job! your fish is happy in his clean habitat. remember to clean your bowl once a week and feed your fish a pinch of food daily! remember responsibility, love and care is what makes animals trust you. Happy fish owning!- A.M.

How do you take care of minnows in an aquarium?

Buy like a 10 gal. tank, buy an airstone, or sponge filter, sand, food, and obviously the minnows. get the tank, put the sand in, and set up the filter or airstone. Put the minnows in the tank, and feed them. depending on what kind they are, they might get big. For a while, they might just eat bread, or goldfish flakes.
