How many guppies can be in a 2.5 gallon tank?

the rule of keeping fish in a tank is 1 gallon per inch of full grown fish, so 3 guppies will be good but just to keep them safe hav an air pump or just keep 2 of them

Yes they can but for a very short time. A heater can not fit in a 2.5 g tank. You can fit maybe 1 guppy in there but it will be lonely.

Although I do not know about guppies living in such small parameters especially with the way they breed. However you CAN definitely get a heater for a small tank I had a one gallon and bought a heater that shuts off at 74 F. SO it depends really the gender you want to put in and are these fancy or regular guppies?

The rules of fishkeeping are. :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water but more is better. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week.Follow the rules and you stand a chance of keeping fish successfully. Miss out on any of them, and I can guarantee that your fish will have constant health problems.

Yes but not successfully. Guppies can give birth to up to 200 fry in one go. A tiny tank is nowhere near large enough to raise them.

Dependant on the size of the guppies. If they are adults and you do weekly partial water changes, you could put 4 -6 guppies in the tank, less if you don't change the water as often.
