A consertative estimate of a medium sized C. megalodon, with 16 metres in total lenght, would be aprox. 50 tonnes.

A larger specimen with 20 metres would probably weight more than 100 tonnes.

But this is, at best, an educated guess.

We DON'T KNOW how large could be the largest specimens.

We DON'T KNOW the body structure of C. megalodon.

We DON'T KNOW if megalodon belonged to the genus Carcharodon, and was a bulkier version of a great white (Carcharodon carcharias), or if it belonged to the genus Carcharocles, and in this case it could well be a gigantic Mako shark.
