Unlike some people think not all people are fat, and some women are stocky or not blessed with perfect legs. Yes, it's true that high heels (stilettos with ruin your feet) do make the legs more shapely as well as a tan on your legs. I personally have nothing against Large Framed women, there is a difference between inherently unable to get rid of excess body fat(seeing I'm large framed, but I'm a guy that is 215lb, still rough) and looking like a large Cantaloupe floating on the sea of Cholesterol Sorrows. Women have a rougher time getting rid of body weight especially if they are large framed. Women are genetically programmed to collect fat, it requires a lot of energy to carry a baby so the body plans ahead due to hormonal make-up. Seeing all humans are programmed to store fat when food is seemingly not available to your body(it does not know that you live in an abundance of food) so unless you eat every 3 hours and shoot for 400-500 calories each time, your body will slow metabolism down to match for the assumed lack of food. Technically it is possible to blame it on your genetics if your female, but don't go to extremes of saying that its all because your big boned. Now something along the lines of Big Boned American, well that's a good enough excuse to have a gut right there, its just the refusal to admit its because you like fast food. I don't care how big boned anyone is though, that is still not an excuse for not being within the healthy weight expectancy for your height. Now don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying your just using it as an excuse, just merely stating an opinion. Male or Female, if your gut sticks out so far you can barely see your toes or not at all, blaming on your genes is not going to solve your 45 years of life. I know you see those 80 year old women who are still smoking cigarettes and that 60 year old woman who is still wheezing her way through life on a machine. But that is about 1/500 people that will make it there with those issues, your more likely to get smashed by a bus while crossing the street. After reading what he put here, i kicked my friend out last night, he has no business saying stuff like that seeing he is 5'4 272 pounds. There are better ways of looking lighter, if you feel that you look fat or big, don't wear vertical stripes, avoid wearing bright clothing that will show a shadow outline. As for looking lighter, no, no it does not... If anything it can make you look quite a bit bigger, seeing the posture that it will create(if you have a gut) tends to make it stick out more because of the constantly flexed muscles in the abdomen and thighs. I understand people wanna look prettier but when it all comes down to it, everyone is just a little to stressed(major player in looking big) about how they look and if they are pleasing everyone around them. I can understand such a practice if you were trying to attract a monogamous male/female to pursue a relationship, other than that i see no reason(other than general health if just flat out obese). If anything offends anyone in the above comments, get over it, its not directed at anyone specifically. This is only intended to hurt a specific group of people enough to change their lifestyle from BK to Subway. To the above poster. I deleted your friends answer and thank you for kicking him out for saying that. Buy him a pair of stilettos! LOL Your post is not offensive, but I was thinking more along the lines of women with imperfect legs and the person asking the question didn't mention being over-weight. Good post though.
So they can look fancy and tall, also to attract attention.
Many women like to wear heels because they perceive them as fashionable. Also, many feel that a high heeled shoe gives their calves a better look, because standing that way accentuates the calf muscles. Of course there are short women who want to appear taller, but when they wear very high heels, it tends to look awkward. So the answer is for the way they look.
Most people think of ladies´shoes when they think "high heels", but the truth is that these shoes are worn by men and women alike. We are all familiar with what women's high heel shoes look like, but men's boots and shoes with Cuban heels and supports have exactly the same effect.
High heels have never been out of fashion, but it is really a matter of personal taste. Some outfits and legs look better with high heels, but some people prefer flats that will always look nice also.
They think it is cute and sexy because when wemon wears them they look more safisticated/young depending on the style
Look for ballet heels. I have loads.
Yes, although it may make them look freakishly tall, if they are already comparatively tall to those around them.
Jeff Foxworthy's joke about high heels humorously points out the absurdity of women wearing them, suggesting that high heels are a way to make a woman taller while also making it difficult for her to walk. He quips that it's ironic how women will endure pain and discomfort just to look good, comparing it to a man’s preference for practical footwear. The punchline underscores the comedic contrast between beauty and practicality.

just to make sure they look good. we women care about appearance so much that we will put up with the amount of discomfort it takes to kill an entire army of men just to look good.
Men and women find them sexy. It's all amater of preference of course, but one reason is it enhances the shape of a womans calf muscles and modifies the standing and walking posture in amanner than increases the swing of the hips. Women like to FEEL sexy, high heels help. Of course sexy is an attitude, not just a look.
Gold high heels look best.
