H. Salt Fish and Chips, a popular fish and chips chain founded in the 1960s, faced challenges over the years, including competition and changing consumer preferences. Many locations closed in the late 1990s and early 2000s, leading to a significant decline in the brand's presence. While some franchise locations still exist, the original chain has largely disappeared from the market. Today, it is often remembered nostalgically by those who enjoyed its classic offerings.
H. Salt Esq. Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips. It's competition was Long John Silvers and Captain D's.
Both Arthur Treachers and H. Salt Fish and Chips started around the same time which was late 60's, early 70's. Pretty much the same menu. Sure would like them back
When I worked for them in Texas in the mid 70's, they were owned by Smirnoff, the liquor folks. that was the problem. They might have known booze, but knew nothing about the restaurant business. They had much better fish than LJS and Capt'n D's, they just had no marketing sense.
It is chips.
A fish starting with H is haddock.

No, salt (such as NaCl) does not dissociate into H+ and OH- ions in solution. Salt dissociates into Na+ and Cl- ions. It is only certain substances, like acids and bases, that can dissociate into H+ and OH- ions in solution.
